Overview
Shareflo does not let you delete stakeholders, because stakeholders form part of your company’s historical share and option register.
Instead, when you want to remove someone’s access, you deactivate the stakeholder.

When a Stakeholder Can Be Deactivated
A stakeholder can be deactivated as long as they have no current holdings.
This includes stakeholders who:
- Used to have holdings, but later transferred them away.
- Was previously awarded/allotted instruments, but those awards were later voided.
If the stakeholder has any current holdings, they cannot be deactivated.
What Happens When You Deactivate a Stakeholder
When a stakeholder is deactivated:
- The stakeholder will no longer appear in the company’s stakeholder lists for operational workflows, including:
- Awarding shares or options.
- Transferring shares or options.
- Other actions that require selecting a stakeholder.
- The user accounts of the stakeholder’s representative(s) are also deactivated, which removes their access.
- Representatives will be notified by email if they:
- Have been invited to sign up, or
- Have successfully signed up.
Representatives who were never invited will not be notified.
